About the Speaker:

Nicholas Hossack is a Policy Director of the Australian Bankers’ Association with responsibility for the industry and economic policy and research program and managing payments system policy issues.
Other past responsibilities as a policy director included: financial stability, prudential regulation, competition policy, taxation and superannuation. For three years, he was an Adviser to Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard, and prior to that research economist in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. Nick began his working life in the NSW Public Service.

Nicholas regularly represents the banking industry in the media, government inquiries, conferences and other public forums. He is a Senior Executive Fellow of the Kennedy School of Government (Harvard University) and has B.Ec. and BA from the Australian National University.
